"The Album" is the debut studio album by the South Korean girl group Blackpink, hitting the shelves on October 2, 2020, courtesy of YG Entertainment and Interscope.
 
For this project, Blackpink poured their energy into crafting over ten new songs, collaborating with a diverse array of producers, including Teddy, Tommy Brown, R. Tee, Steven Franks, and 24. The final tracklist comprises eight songs, featuring notable collaborations such as "Ice Cream" with Selena Gomez and "Bet You Wanna" with Cardi B.

Yeung of AllMusic lauded the album, noting how Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa exude confidence as they navigate each track with their versatile vocal prowess and innate charm, seamlessly transitioning between singing and rapping. Alexis Petridis of The Guardian commended the album's production, describing it as meticulously crafted rap-influenced pop that outshines the efforts of many Western artists in the same genre.
