"Buena Vista Social Club" is a captivating studio album by the ensemble of the same name, comprising talented Cuban musicians under the direction of Juan de Marcos González and American guitarist Ry Cooder. Produced by Cooder, the album was recorded at Havana's EGREM studios in March 1996 and released on September 16, 1997, through World Circuit internationally and Nonesuch Records in the United States. It stands as the Buena Vista Social Club's only standard studio album.
 
The album garnered widespread critical acclaim and received numerous accolades from music writers and publications. In 2003, it secured the 260th spot on Rolling Stone magazine's esteemed list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, making it one of the few non-English speaking productions on the list. It was also featured in the book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die." With over 8 million copies sold as of 2020, "Buena Vista Social Club" has attained significant commercial success.
