"Ceremonials" is the second studio album by English indie rock band Florence and the Machine, released on October 28, 2011, via Island Records. The band began working on the album in 2010, completing it in 2011. The standard edition of the album was produced entirely by Paul Epworth, who also played a significant role on the band’s debut album, "Lungs" (2009).
"Ceremonials" was met with generally favorable reviews from critics, who drew comparisons to artists like Kate Bush while praising the album’s instrumentation, Florence Welch’s powerful vocals, and Epworth’s production work. The album appeared on several year-end critics' lists for 2011. At the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, and the single "Shake It Out" was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
The album achieved significant commercial success, debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart, marking the band’s second consecutive number-one album in the UK. It also topped the charts in Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand, and reached number six on the US Billboard 200, earning Florence and the Machine their first top-10 album in the United States. "Ceremonials" has sold over 2 million copies worldwide.
Several songs in the album were released as singles, such as "Shake It Out", "What The Water Gave Me" and "No Light No Light"
