The music was specifically crafted for plants to enjoy, a concept that stemmed from Garson's wife's love for gardening. Using a Moog synthesizer, Garson composed the entire album, marking it as the West Coast's pioneering Moog synthesizer project.
Initially, the album had a limited distribution, only accessible to those who bought a houseplant from Mother Earth on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles or a Simmons mattress from a Sears outlet, both bundled with the record. Consequently, it didn't achieve widespread acclaim upon release. Yet, over time, it garnered a dedicated following, appreciated as an early gem in electronic music history.
