"Lazer Guided Melodies" is the debut studio album of the English space rock band Spiritualized. Recorded by the band's inaugural lineup, comprised of Jason Pierce (vocals, guitars), Mark Refoy (guitars), Will Carruthers (bass), Jonny Mattock (drums), and Kate Radley (keyboards), the album took shape from 1990 to 1991 and was mixed by Pierce in London in January 1992. Released initially on Dedicated Records in March 1992, the album saw distribution on cassette, Compact Disc, and Vinyl (2 x LP), with initial vinyl copies including a bonus 7" record.
 
Structured across two 45rpm vinyl LPs, the album's twelve tracks seamlessly blend into four color-coded suites (red, green, blue, black), creating a continuous, immersive experience. This unique format earned the album recognition in Pitchfork's 2010 roundup of "ten unusual CD-era gimmicks." "Lazer Guided Melodies" also secured a spot in the esteemed book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die." In 2018, Pitchfork further lauded the album, ranking it at number 11 on its list of "The 30 Best Dream Pop Albums."
 
By 1995, the album had garnered sales of 10,000 copies in the United States, solidifying its impact and enduring appeal.
