"Astral Weeks" is the second studio album from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. Recorded at Century Sound Studios in New York during September and October 1968, it was unleashed to the world by Warner Bros. Records in November of the same year.

This album represents a departure from Morrison's earlier pop hits like "Brown Eyed Girl" (1967), melding folk, blues, jazz, and classical influences into a unique sonic tapestry. Its lyrics and cover art delve into themes of earthly love and spirituality, a motif recurring throughout Morrison's subsequent works. Critics have hailed the lyrics as impressionistic and hypnotic, while the album itself is often categorized as a song cycle or concept album.

Initially lacking promotional support from Morrison's record label, Astral Weeks didn't immediately resonate with audiences or critics. However, over time, it gained widespread acclaim for Morrison's exceptional singing, intricate arrangements, and profound songwriting. Despite Morrison's own dismissal of its legendary status, Astral Weeks has consistently appeared on lists of the greatest albums of all time, leaving an indelible mark on both listeners and musicians alike.
